Immanuel means God with us. As we get closer and closer to Christmas remember that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because God choose to come to earth as a baby and walk among us. God could have chosen to come to earth as king or as a fully grown man, but instead he came to earth as a baby born to a peasant family, in a back water town in a back water country. Why? So that we could see that God is faithful in fulfilling his promises. Jesus was born where he was born in order to fulfill God promise. Remember this as we head into the last week before Christmas: Christmas is the beginning of God fulfilling his promise to provide a way to save a lost and dying world.
