Paul’s last lesson in the book of Ephesians is about how to stand against the devil and his schemes. Over and over again in Ephesians 6:10-18 Paul tells us to stand firm against the devil, but he doesn’t tell us to stand in our own strength. He tells us to put on the full armor of God. He tells us to use the tools that can only come from God and choosing on a daily basis to be on guard against the devil and his many schemes. YOU CAN ONLY STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL THROUGH GOD’S STRENGTH AND POWER, AND YOU CANNOT RESIST THE DEVIL ALONE. God will give you the tools and strength necessary to stand against the devil, but he doesn’t expect you to do it alone. Find a community of believers in your area and lock shields with them, because you are stronger when you do live together with others. “In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16 CSB)
