www.bible.com/111/mat.5.7.nivIn this verse Jesus is reiterating what God told the prophet Micah. In Micah 6:8 God tells Micah to say this, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with you God.” (NIV). Justice and mercy go hand in hand. When you act justly you will show mercy, because you will understand that God has shown you a great deal of mercy in that he doesn’t give you what you deserve. Rather he shows mercy to you by choosing to forgive the sins that you have committed. Let’s make an effort today to show mercy to everyone we come in contact with today.
