But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.-Jeremiah 17:7
In whom should you put your trust and confidence? Should you put your trust and confidence in man and his ways? No you should place your trust and confidence in God and in his ways. By placing your trust and confidence in God you will receive a blessing far greater than the wealth and riches that this world has to offer you. You will receive the blessing of knowing that you can withstand anything that life throws your way, because you have built your life on a firm foundation. Jesus said this at the end of his sermon on the mount: “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash” (Matthew 7:24-27 NIV). Which person are you going to choose to be. Put your trust and confidence in God today and you will build life on the rock that can withstand any storm.
