And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.-1 Corinthians 13:13

These are Paul’s final words in his chapter on love to the Corinthian church. Why would Paul say that out of faith, hope and love that love is the greatest or put another way more important? Because without love you have no hope and without love you have nothing to put your faith in. We all know the words of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It is God’s love for you manifested through his Son Jesus that gives you hope for a brighter future and your source of faith. That is why Paul could write that out of faith, hope and love that love is the greatest.
