Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.-Proverbs 29:25
In whom do you put your trust? Do you put your trust in things that will eventually be destroyed or do you put your trust in something that can never be destroyed? When you put your trust in God you are putting your trust in something that can never be destroyed. Jesus said, “where your heart is there your treasure will be also”.
To fear something is to be awe or to be have respect for it. We are told over and over again to fear God throughout the Bible. However, this doe not mean that we are to be scared of God, but rather that we should be in awe of God. Because we are to stand in awe of God, it holds true that we should not stand in awe of the things of this world. When we start to fear the things of this world it leads into a trap. And this is the devil’s way of luring us away from following the path that God would have us walk. How do you combat this by putting your trust in God and by being aware and alert to the schemes of the devil.
