God is more interested in the condition of your heart than he is interested in your blindly following a set of rules and regulations. It doesn’t matter how much you give or do if your heart is not in the right place. Cain found that out the hard way and the people of Israel had to find that out the hard way throughout their history. Just as we sometimes have to find out that God doesn’t really care about the sacrifice or the offering itself, but what he does care about is the reason for the sacrifice or offering. It is your motive for doing things that really matters not the act itself.
