The Lord is my shepherd, I lack for nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.-Psalm 23:1-2

In this Psalm David uses imagery that he is familiar with to describe God and his relationship with us. David starts off by saying that God is our shepherd and that he will provide all that we need. That is what shepherds do for their flocks. Secondly, David says that “he makes me lie down in green pastures”. David is not repeating himself here, what he is actually saying is that God like a shepherd leads his flock to a place of safety and rest. And lastly, David says that God “leads me beside quiet waters”. The green pasture is you place of healing and the quiet waters is your place of restoration. We all need a place where we go to be restored and that is what the quiet waters are. Remember these things today: God will provide everything you need, he will provide you a place of healing, and he will provide you with a place of restoration.
