Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.-Psalm 37:4
What does David mean here when he says God will give you the desires of your heart? Does he mean that God will give everything that you want? No that is not what David saying about God and your relationship with God. What David is saying about God is that he will give you that which you desire deepest in your heart. And what is the one thing that we all desire the most in our hearts? What is the thing that has been missing since Adam and Eve first sinned in the Garden of Eden? That one thing is to fill the God sized void or hole in our life’s. When you take delight in God or find joy in walking with him, talking with him and just being with him then that God sized hole that we all have in our life’s because of sin is filled. If your are looking today to see the desire of your heart fulfilled then return to God. Come back to God, admitting that you have sinned and that you need God’s grace and forgiveness, and accepting that God is Lord of your life and that you are committing yourself to walking daily with him.
