Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.-Philippians 1:6
Paul is telling the Philippian Church and us that God has a plan for your life and God is going to see that plan through to completion. What Paul is doing here is echoing and reiterating what the prophets of the Old Testament were told by God and that is when God starts something he is going to finish it. We may not know the timeline for God’s completion of the “good work” that he has started in us, but we do know that God will see it through to the end. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations, and places where I have banished you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.'”(Jeremiah 29:11-14 NIV)
