DAY 27
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Galatians 6:9-10 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
A couple of months ago, I went to the local agricultural store and bought basil seeds in an attempt to grow basil on our apartment balcony. I arrived home and placed the seeds in the soil, watered the seeds, and waited.
I struggled to be patient, and on the next day after planting the seeds, I began getting frustrated that nothing had sprouted. It took much longer than anticipated, but after weeks of waiting, finally, a sprout of basil appeared.
Have you noticed there is timing in the relationship between sowing and reaping? The same day you plant the seed isn’t the same day you eat the fruit.
You may be reading this and you’ve been believing for a breakthrough which may be days, weeks, months or even years away. I want to encourage you: God’s timing is perfect and worth waiting for.
The cost of the seed you are sowing and the sacrifice of the consistency in which you have been sowing is not time wasted, but time invested. The fruit of the harvest is worth the cost of the seed.
My prayer is that you would find rest in the waiting season of your life while you are sowing and waiting for the harvest to appear. As Matthew 11:28 says He will give you rest when you feel weary.
His timing is perfect and His faithfulness is found in His character.
Question
What is something you’ve been sowing in belief for God to do?
I want to encourage you to shape your faith into prayer for this today.
