Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.-Psalm 126:5-6

What is the author of this Psalm trying to tell us with all this talk of sowing with tears and reaping with songs of joy? He is giving us a metaphorical picture of the joy already experienced and the joy anticipated. He is, also, telling us that even when sowing is a accompanied by trouble or sorrow, harvest brings joy. How then are we to apply this to our life’s? We must always remember that joy is a chose and that joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness is a feeling that involves emotions, whereas joy is a state of mind. When we take the time to remember that God is in control of everything and that he has a plan and a purpose of you, then you will remember all the things that God has already done for you and you will wait with anticipation for the things that God is going to do for you.
