I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.-Jeremiah 31:25
What is God telling the prophet Jeremiah here? Is he telling Jeremiah that there will never be any problems in life? No God is not telling Jeremiah that, in fact he is telling him that there will be problems in life and he is also telling him that God will give the strength to get through your problems. This is where most of us struggle because for whatever reason we turn to God as a last resort rather than turning to God first. We believe that we can fix all of problems by ourselves and without the help of God and in reality all we end up doing is making things worse. We forget the very words that Jesus spoke over two thousand years ago when he said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”(Matthew 11:28-30 NIV). That is the key to finding solutions to your problems, the refreshing to weariness and satisfaction for your life. You can’t go through life trying to solve everything for yourself, you have to turn to the one who said he would give you rest.
