I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.-Psalm 27:13-14
David was confident of this one thing throughout his life and that one thing was that the goodness of God is always visible no matter the circumstances that you are going through. That is why David was able to end this Psalm with the bold statement to wait for God and to be strong while doing so. David had learned through all his troubles, problems and bad events of his life that God is good all the time and that if you wait for God’s time then good things will happen, maybe not right away but they will happen. And if you don’t believe that David went through some difficult times read through the book of 1 Samuel. David was chased out of his homeland and was being hunted by a man whom he had served faithfully. Yet every time that David was presented with any opportunity to forcefully take what was rightfully his he did not. David chose to wait knowing that to do something ahead of God’s schedule would cause disaster. David knew the value of waiting for God. And if you want to live your life to the fullest potential that God has for you, then you should learn to wait for God also. Don’t rush God. Remember he has a plan for you and it is a good plan, but it will come in God’s time not your’s.
