When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?-Psalm 8:3-4

David in this Psalm is reminding us of the greatness and awesome power of God, who created the universe and everything in it, and he is also reminding us of God’s loving and caring nature. Many people still grapple with the question that David asked of himself in this Psalm, “what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them”. It is a hard concept to accept that God, who created the universe, actually thinks about, loves and cares for every person living on this earth. However, until you come to accept that as truth God will remain a distant figure, who doesn’t think about you, love you or care about you. But the moment you come to realize that God really does think about you, love you and care about you it will open you up to a whole new relationship with God and with those around you.
