You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.-Galatians 5:13
Every person born on this earth is called to be free. Regardless of ethnic background. Regardless of gender. None of those things matter because in the eyes of God we are equal. That is why Paul towards the end of his letter to the Galatians reminds them to not use their freedom to indulge in worldly things, but to use their freedom to indulge in Godly things and working to advance his kingdom not the world’s kingdom. And his advice still applies to us today. In fact it applies even more so to us today because we live in a society were the concept o freedom has been taken to an extreme. We want our freedoms, but don’t want anyone else to have theirs. Because we have forgotten what the concept of freedom is all about. We’ve forgotten that freedom is all about being released from bondage to something or someone. Remember God sent Jesus to set us free from anything that is keeping us from living the life that he has called us to live. So let freedom ring around the world today and everyday, but not freedom as the world gives but the freedom God gives you a Christ Jesus.
