Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Who is the solid foundation that your life should be built on? Should the foundation of your life be the world’s expectations or should it be God’s expectations? Which one do you think is built on the strongest foundation and which you do you think will hold up during the storms that life will throw it you? The answer to all of these questions is God. You see the world is going to say that everything you read in the Bible and everything that you hear about Jesus from “Christians” is a lie and is all based on a lie. And conversely everything the world will teach you about right and wrong, good and evil, or moral and immoral is right and is the truth. However, nothing could be further from the truth. We should all know that the devil, who has been given control or rule over the earth for a short time, is the father of lies. He likes to distort the truth and turn it around so that there is just enough truth in what he is saying to convince you that he is telling you the truth. But in reality what he really trying to do is lead into a trap so that he erode away that firm foundation on which your life is built. This is way you have to have a firm understanding about what you believe about God and Jesus. That is why you must be spending time daily reading God’s word and praying, because that is how you build that firm foundation that will hold up against the heaviest storms that will come your way.
