Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.-Psalm 100:2
Here the writer of this psalm says we are to “worship the Lord with gladness”. But what does it mean to “worship the Lord with gladness”? The worship part is very simple to figure out. When we worship God we are praising and thanking him for what he has done. The hard part to understand is the phrase “with gladness”. What the writer of this psalm is saying with that phrase is that we need to come to worship God with the right attitude. We actually have to be thankful for what God has done for us in order to properly worship him. If we are not thankful for God and the things he has done for us, then we are just making a bunch of noise and not worshiping. For you have a choice. You can either choose to be grateful for what God has done for you and praise him for it, or you can be ungrateful and blame God for everything all without seeing the good things he has done for you. So be glad for what God does done for you, and praise him and thank him for what he has done for you.
