What is the secret to answered prayers? Other than the obvious answer of actually praying, it is believing that God can and will do what you are asking him to do. That is what Jesus is teaching us here. He is teaching us that our prayers have power not because of the fancy words we speak or the fancy formula we use to string those words, rather instead he is telling us our prayers have power because of our belief in the one who is able to answer our prayers. If you don’t believe God is able to answer, then don’t ask. But if you do believe that he is able to answer, then ask and be prepared to see what he can and will do for you.
