Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as deathly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.-Ephesians 4:32-5:2
Have we as children of God followed his example? Do we forgive each other as God has forgiven us? Do we walk in the way of love? Unfortunately the answer to these questions is no, for most of us. We don’t follow God’s example. We don’t forgive others as God has forgiven us. And we don’t walk in the way of love. And yet we wonder why nobody wants any part of what we are offering. We act no differently than those we label as “sinners”, but yet we claim that we are better them and we look down our noses at them. All the while forgetting the fact that we to are sinners who have been saved by the grace of God. And until we recognize this there will never be a change in our attitude and there will never be a change in the world we live in. If we want to see real change in our world, then we need to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as we have been by God through Jesus Christ.
