What is Peter saying here? Peter is telling us that it is only through God’s power that we are able to live our life in manner that reflects him. In fact God has actually given us everything we need to live life’s that reflect him. And how has God given us everything we need to live this of life? He has given us everything we need through a knowledge of him. And the way we gain knowledge of God is to get to know God. And the way you get to know God is to read his word and talk with him. This means that our knowledge of God comes through reading the Bible and prayer. Because you can’t know someone without listening to what they are saying.
