What is the prophet Isaiah telling us here? He is in essence telling us the secret to having peace. And the severe to having peace to trust in God. Because when you trust in God you have a calmness that only comes from knowing that everything is the hands of the one who has control of everything. Because the world thinks that peace is simply the absence of conflict, but true peace is much more than an absence of conflict it is a calmness and serenity that can only come through the knowledge that everything will be okay.
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
