For it is God who working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:13
Paul is telling us two very important things here. The first is that God does have a purpose for your life. And we know this not only because Paul tells us but because God tells us this through the prophet Jeremiah. Here is what God said to the prophet Jeremiah, “‘For I know the plans I have for you’ – this is the Lord’s declaration – ‘plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'” (Jeremiah 29:11). And the second thing that Paul tells us here is that is God who gives us the power and more importantly the desire to fulfill the purpose that he has given to each of us. And again we see it is not just Paul who tells us this but it is God and once again God’s word comes to the prophet Jeremiah.
“You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me and find me when search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you”, this is the Lord’s declaration, “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you,” this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place from which I deported you.” Jeremiah 29:12-14
For you see God desperately wants you to find your purpose. And God willing and able to give you the power and the desire to not only find your God given purpose in life, but to fulfill your God given purpose in life. But the key to finding your God given purpose in life and to fulfilling your God given purpose in life is to be seeking God with all your heart.
