I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb, forever and ever! Revelation 5:13
So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth – and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10-11
Revelation 5:13 is the culmination of what Paul is telling us will happen in Philippians 2:10-11. Which is that every person, whether they are alive or dead, or saved or unsaved will take a posture of submissive reverence to God (not just God the Father, but the entire trinity). That is why Paul used the phrase “in heaven and on earth and under the earth” and John used the phrase “in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them”. Both men are telling us that one day God in his entity will be the focus of our worship. And that we have a choice to make in the period leading up to this future time period. That choice is very simple: we can take the posture of submissive reverence now of our free will or we can choose not to and submit to God later but not of our own free will. Because one way or the other every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
