Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
Here in this psalm the psalmist describes God’s Word as being “a lamp” for your feet and a “light” for your path. But what does the psalmist mean when he describes God’s Word in this way. He is telling us that God’s Word contains the spiritual principles that will help us avoid many sorrows, pitfalls and tragedies brought on by wrong decisions and choices. For this reason, we must treasure its wisdom and apply it in all of life’s situations. God’s Word will never fail to guide us in the right direction. That is why it is of utmost importance that you spend time in God’s Word on a daily basis. Because it can’t be your guiding light if you don’t learn what it is trying to teach you and then take it and apply it to your life.
