I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8
In today’s passage David is recording a promise that God gave to him and that he is passing on to future generations through his writing of this psalm. The promise the David records here is one where the Lord promises to instruct and guide his followers (those who have been forgiven for their sins). God’s followers are those who show evidence of a humble and teachable spirit. They show that they treasure his presence and counsel, trust him completely, rejoice in him and continue to do what is right.
