Verse of the Day 12-25-21

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:11

As you go about celebrating Christmas today, in whatever way you choose to do so, remember what you are actually celebrating. You are celebrating the brith of your Savior. Who as your Savior has come to rescue you from sin and its most costly result: spiritual death and separation from God. This mission includes freeing you from Satan’s power, preserving you from the ungodly influence of the world, relieving you of fear, giving you victory over death and saving you from the final judgement for your offenses against God. Jesus as your Savior is also “Christ the Lord”-the only one worthy to be the leader and supreme authority in your life. He has been anointed, which means set apart, commissioned or empowered, as the Messiah, which literally means the “Anointed One” or the “Savior”, and the Lord who rules with love over his people. No one can truly have Jesus as Savior while not submitting to his lordship. That is to say, he must be both the Forgiver of your sins and the Leader of your life. As you go about your Christmas celebrations remember these words given to the prophet Isaiah, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

Success! You're on the list.
