For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
Paul here was writing to his young protege Timothy, who at times lacked confidence or was too timid. And Paul was writing these words to Timothy to remind him that he did not have to rely on his own strength and ability to fulfill the ministry God had given him. Similarly, in whatever God has called us to do, we have no reason to fear because God never calls us to a task for which he will not equip and enable us by the power of his Spirit. Our primary motivation for serving God should be love-God’s love for us and our love for him and others. But it also takes great discipline to step out in faith and use the gifts he has given us to accomplish his purposes. Are you willing to step out in faith despite your fears to fulfill the God given purposes for your life?
