One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25
God promises that those who are generous will receive back more than they give. He blesses those who are kind and generous, whether it be with money, things, abilities, time or acts of compassion. The New Testament teaches that we are stewards (caretakers or managers) of God’s gifts and must use them to promote his cause and to benefit those in need. Of course, the greatest need people have is to hear and receive Christ’s message of forgiveness and new life. We should be willing to give to ministry and missions efforts that are aimed at spreading this message to others-in our own communities and around the world.
