Verse of the Day 3-10-22

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13

The parallel for today’s passage is Matthew 7:11 which reads, “If you, then though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” In both of these passages Jesus is promising that God the Father will not disappoint his children. God loves us even more than any good earthly father could love his children; and he wants us to ask him for whatever we need, promising to give us what is good and best for us. He desires to provide solutions for our problems and to supply our daily needs. And most of all, he gives the Holy Spirit to us as our Counselor and Helper.
