Verse of the Day 3-19-22

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46:1-3

We all experience times when we feel spiritually dry, empty and unproductive. However, this should not be the normal condition for us as believers. God desires to be active in the lives of his people. This psalm expresses trust and confidence in God during at time when the situations of life are not stable or secure. And it shows us that the power and ability to face the difficulties and uncertainties of life are found in God. The word “refuge” used here gives the picture of a shelter from danger. Showing that God is our true security in the storms of life. The word “strength” used here refers to God’s power when we are battling spiritual enemies. We must remember that if we patiently trust God, he will reveal his power through us so that we can overcome the obstacles of life.

The end result of doing so is that God is “an ever-present help in trouble.” We must remember that he is available and wants us to call on him for help in times of need. And finally we, also, must remember that God’s power and presence are enough to handle any situation and that since he never leaves us, we have no reason to be afraid.
