The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name. Zechariah 14:9
When Christ establishes his kingdom following his final return to earth, all people of the earth will worship him. In other words, one day you will bend your knee in the presence of Jesus either because he is your returning victorious king or because he has conquered the one you had claimed to be king. And finally the fact that Christ alone is Lord and finally will be King over the earth is a major theme throughout the Bible. And you must choose who your king will be. You must answer for yourselves the challenge Joshua posed to the people of Israel at the end of his life:
“Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:14-15 (ESV)
