Verse of the Day 6-19-22

As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. Psalm 103:13

Psalm 103:13-18 praise God’s covenant mercies toward those who fear him and keep his commands. As our Father, God is kind and compassionate (v. 13). As our Creator, he knows we are dust, made from the frailest materials and bound for the dirt that formed us (v. 14). On our own, human beings have little significance or longevity. We sprout up, flourish for a time then wilt in the wind, forgotten (vv.15-16). But God’s people have an everlasting God and an eternal covenant that was passed down for endless generations. Keeping this covenant is the only path to honor that lasts.
