Verse of the Day 6-27-22

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
“All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.
Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.
For I am the LORD your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you. Isaiah 41:10-13

The promises God makes here do not just apply to the people of Israel, but they also apply to New Testament followers of Christ because we have become God’s chosen servants and claim the promises of these verses for ourselves. And as followers of Christ, we must not fear others humans because God is with us doing the following things:

  1. Giving us the grace, the undeserved favor and help, and strength needed to face all of life’s circumstances.
  2. Helping us through times of crisis by giving us hope and peace.
  3. Providing for our needs.
  4. Supporting us in our in our efforts to fulfill his purpose for our lives.

All of these are reasons that have as followers of Christ to not fear other humans and more importantly to not fear the world and what it will try to do us, because we serve a God who is bigger, stronger and more powerful than anything that the world and its dark forces can throw against us.
