Verse of the Day 7-12-22

Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always. Psalm 105:1-4

This psalm calls the Israelites to worship, praise and obey God and to pursue a deeper relationship with him. That is because he has miraculously directed their individual lives and their history as a nation in order to establish and preserve Israel as a people set apart for his purposes. This psalm aims at inspiring gratitude for the Lord’s care, joy in their possession of the promised land and faithfulness to him and his Word. We can also look back and remember God’s history with us, which should inspire thankfulness toward God and a greater loyalty to Christ who gave himself for us. It should also inspire us to talk to others about the good things he does in our lives. In this way, gratitude to God and a willingness to spread his message go hand in hand.
