Verse of the Day 8-28-22

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

This passage should be a great encouragement to God’s children when they must endure sufferings in this life. Concerning his faithful people, God will bring good out of all difficulties, troubles, persecution and suffering. The highest good is that we will better relate to and become more like Jesus Christ, which will finally lead to sharing in his glory. This promise is limited to those who love God and have submitted to him through faith in Christ. The “all things” do not necessarily include our sins and spiritual negligence. No one can excuse sin by claiming that God will work it out for good. For that matter, we often will experience the temporary consequences of those sins even after confessing them to God and receiving forgiveness. Yet, if we confess and truly turn from our offenses against God, he can still work out his highest purposes in our lives, no matter what our failures are.
