Verse of the Day 10-6-22

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16

“The word of Christ” (i.e., Scripture, God’s written Word) must be continually read, studied and meditated upon. (Mediation on God’s Word involves reading a passage, pondering it over and over, considering what it means and determining specifically how you can apply the truth to your life.) In order for Christ’s words to dwell in us, we must also pray and practice its principles until they become part of us. By developing this disciple, your thoughts, words, actions and motivations will be increasingly influenced and controlled by Christ (Psalm 119:11; John 15:7 and 1 Corinthians 15:2). Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs should be used to teach God’s Word and to inspire believers to love and obey Christ.
