Grace Abound to You: The Gift of Giving

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV)

Followers of Christ who give what they can to help those in need will find that God graciously provides for their own needs-and even more-so that they continue to show generosity and good works (Ephesians 4:28). The term “grace” simply means God’s unearned, undeserved favor, love, help, and enablement. To put this all together, we do not deserve the favor, love, and help that God has given us, but yet we receive it anyway because God love us. So it that then behoofs us to go out and show love to those around us, especially those who are less fortunate. Here then is what Paul is writing to us here in 2 Corinthians 9:8; As we show love to others, helping and enabling them in productive ways, God will show a special love to us, helping and enabling us to do even more. However, the key is not giving so that you can get, but, rather, the key is giving out of love expecting nothing in return.
