If God’s People

The basis for this book comes from a very well know passage from the book of 2 Chronicles. This passage occurs right after Solomon has just finished dedicating the temple he has just built for God to dwell in. In the preceding chapter Solomon has asked for God to hear and forgive the people of Israel, if they sin against God and ask for God’s forgiveness for their sin. And God replies in this manner:

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NIV)
